Home Centre joins hands with education4all in their drive to collect stationery for schools in India

In an initiative that began in 2009 Mr K. Venkatraman started a drive towards collection of stationery in association with Shikshayatan Middle School in Tamil Nadu, India; with the mission to propagate free education to the marginalised student community. In this pursuit Home Centre recently joined in by contributing 16 cartons of over 100,000 pencils to the education4all initiative.
“We started with the aim to collect about 10,000 units of basic tools of education, like pencils, erasers, crayons, pens, chalks, notebooks etc. Today we have collected over 106,157 units and distribute to over 4,000 underprivileged students across 50 schools in India. It is great appreciation that we thank Home Centre for this generous contribution that will touch the lives of over 10,000 children,” says Venkat.
At Home Centre we believe that the wellbeing of the community we operate in is a responsibility of the brand. Whenever there is an opportunity to exercise this philosophy we are keen on extending our hand towards community initiatives like this one by education4all,” says Rohit Bhatia, Senior Brand Manager, Home Centre.
